Truck Driver Admits He No Longer Drives a Truck After Causing a Fatal 2015 Accident

A former Texas truck driver faces a lawsuit for causing a fatal truck accident that occurred last year in Arlington, Texas. The driver admits he no longer operates a truck and did not deny he was responsible for causing this accident. As this driver's truck was traveling in a construction zone on I-35, he attempted to drive under an unstable bridge that was too low for his truck. As the truck hit the bridge, loose concrete beams fell and landed on a vehicle that killed a father of two. Driver inattention was listed as the cause of this accident. The family of this man has filed a lawsuit blaming both the driver as well as the trucking company that employed the driver, and other parties thought to share in the responsibility for causing this accident.

Our truck accident lawyers have assisted numerous clients who have fallen victim to inattentive driving that was thought to be the cause of an automobile accident, including trucking accidents. Driver inattention is something that seems to get worse year after year as there are more things in life to distract us. Phones are a prime example, especially when they are used for texting. Our South Florida Trucking Accident Attorneys work hard to help injured victims recover for their pain and suffering caused by inattentive driving.

While it is not clear why this truck driver was inattentive at the time this accident occurred, the aftermath proves that something went wrong. The truck was simply too big to fit under a bridge that was under construction, and the driver should never have attempted to drive under this bridge. This accident is also an example of how a trucking accident does not always involve a tractor-trailer slamming into another vehicle, or a passenger vehicle pulling in front of a tractor trailer. The collapsed bridge itself was what ended the life of a young father; however, had the truck not attempted to travel under the bridge, the bridge may never have collapsed.

Should I Contact an Attorney?

It isn't always easy to know when it is time to speak with an attorney. You may not be sure if someone else is responsible for your injuries. You may believe that you have no chance and that the trouble of seeking to hold someone else responsible is simply too much to bear. Even if you are not sure whether or not you have a valid legal claim, you should at least find out what your options are, and do so before time runs out, as you only have a certain timeframe to file a legal claim.
