Miami SUV Rollover Lawyers
Millions Recovered for Victims of Catastrophic Car Accidents
Although car manufacturers often market sport utility vehicles as being safer than smaller cars, this is not always the case. Poor stability design, poorly designed suspension and/or roof support systems, and inadequate brake systems often couple with things like tire failure due to thread defects, resulting in entire families being put at risk of suffering an SUV rollover accident.
One of the things that Americans find attractive in SUVs is how much higher off the ground we sit compared to regular family cars. However, this greater visibility comes at a costly, sometimes deadly, price—due to their high center of gravity and a wheel base not wide enough to balance the load during sharp maneuvers, SUVs are prone to rollovers. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), SUVs had the highest rollover rate of all vehicles in fatal and injury crashes during 2006.
SUV rollover accidents are extremely dangerous, not only to the occupants of the rolling sport utility vehicle but also to other drivers and pedestrians in the immediate vicinity. Moreover, infants and young children are especially susceptible to being injured in these terrifying accidents.
If the unimaginable occurs and your SUV rolls over and you or your family are injured, have the experienced Miami SUV rollover lawyers of Greenberg, Stone & Urbano help you work to recover the compensation you may be entitled to. This compensation may include funds to cover medical bills and lost wages, as well as compensation for your pain and suffering.

Types of SUV Rollover Accidents
There are four major kinds of SUV rollovers, all of which are potentially fatal:
- Lateral force rollovers: These happen when a sport utility vehicle is traveling too fast to negotiate a curve and rolls over due to the high center of gravity that characterizes this kind of vehicle.
- Ramp rollovers: These occur when the tires on one side go up on a ramp or another object more elevated than where the vehicle initially was.
- Side slope rollovers: This type of rollover occurs when the vehicle is being driven in off-road conditions or when it unintentionally leaves the road.
- Sideways skid rollovers: This type of rollover happens when the vehicle's rear end spins because the rear wheels lose traction and the tires hit a curb or other object that causes the vehicle to rollover.
The Dangers of Rollover Accidents
According to statistics from the NHTSA, during 2004, 2.7 percent of the occupants in rollover vehicles were killed, as compared to 0.2 percent of the occupants of vehicles that crashed without rolling over. Similarly, those statistics show that while less than 3 percent of all crashed vehicles roll over, 33 percent of all the deaths that occurred as a result of the crash happened in rollover accidents. The rate of vehicle passengers that died or suffered incapacitating injuries in cars, pickup trucks, and sport utility vehicles was 11 percent higher when the vehicles rolled over than when they did not.
